Focused Notes Warm Ups

How do we get better at focused note taking?

For focused notes to help, students must return to them! Remember a key point of focused note taking is to make sure the students are understanding the focus of the notes for that day.

Here is an awesome example for a math classroom that was found on twitter (this was not found by me). This professor leads off with a learning target and essential question before diving into the first example problem, and this is all on one page! The first example problem is also a problem that completely encompasses their goal for the day! This is a fantastic way to start off your class so they can start feeling like they understand the point of each lesson!

Here is a acronym students used in some English classes last year. If they have this in their binder or interactive journal, they can return to it each time they need to revise and edit until they no longer need to reference it to remember the steps.
